What are Visual CVs?
In the earlier days before there were so many blogs or Facebook or when tweeting ones thoughts were not so easy. There was a very different method for handing over ones qualifications and letting the right people know about ones experiences and academia.
Only a few years ago a job search involved a few patented steps for every individual. They were: driving to a local stationery store to get the right parchment paper, hovering over a typewriter or a few years later, a word processing software, and making sure you have the right stamp for outside of the envelope.
It was also evident that one’s CV and cover letter would most of the times be opened by a real person, who would judge the document from both a visual point of view and also a tactile sense of the document’s contents and thus, deciding whether the person is fit for the position or not.
But in today’s modern times with the inception of the internet and various job seeking sites, one has the advantage of applying to any specific job as they like with as much as a click of a button from their homes. Regardless of where the actual job is posted your CV will reach the desired recruiter within minutes after you submit it. With the development of these modern technologies a job seeker has the advantage of applying to many more jobs to more and more companies and hence, has increased opportunities to stumble upon their dream jobs sooner.
Not only so, also the recruiting companies can now have their pick from many candidates who are more qualified and experienced and from different places. The great advantage of this developed system is that the recruiters now have more talent at their disposal and the job seekers now have many more opportunities at their fingertips.
But one problem that remains is getting ones application to be noticed amongst the sea of applications all claiming they are the perfect candidate.
With more and more job seekers trying to their best to stand out amongst their contemporaries and to be identified as talented enough for the position, a new concept of Visual CVs have emerged recently. A Visual CV by description is an Internet based, multimedia resume that offers a comprehensive picture of an individual from the professional point of view and helps him/her to stand out from the others in a unique way.
